New York + Energy is an initiative consisting of organizations and companies including New Energy New York, the Energy and Environmental Technology Applications Center (E2TAC), NYSERDA, Empire State Development, the U.S. Department of Commerce as well as academia and suppliers that have joined forces to promote internationally New York's energy industry. Our goal is to bring New York's energy companies together to brand New York as the hot spot for energy-related industries.
Power Gen International
In 2007, the newly redesigned New York + Energy initiative enjoyed success in its fourth year at the Power Gen International show. The group attended the conference in New Orleans, LA, December 11-13. Power Gen, attracting over 17,000 industry professionals, is the largest power generation event. The New York + Energy group included the following partners: Energy & Environmental Technology Applications Center (E2TAC), MSE Power Systems, AGT Services, and Greno Industries. The group shared a 30x40' space at the show and featured a cafe where attendees could take a short break on the comfortable furniture and meet with New York + Energy members. In addition to the private cafe area, New York + Energy also organized a reception at the Crescent City Brewhouse for its members' colleagues, partners, and new business contacts.
New York + Energy also participated in the Power Gen Renewable Energy & Fuels show, held March 6-8, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV. Bringing together wind, solar, biomass and fuels, hydro and geothermal sectors together for three days of information exchange and fast-track networking, Power Gen Renewable Energy & Fuels attracted the biggest names in renewables to discuss technical, strategic, regulatory, structural and economic issues.
Washington International Renewable Energy Conference
New York + Energy attended the Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC) March 4-6, 2008. WIREC brought together government, civil society and private business leaders to address the benefits and costs of a major and rapid scale-up in the global deployment of renewable energy technology. The conference focused on areas such as geothermal, biofuels, hydro, solar, and wind energy.
