Background

The world is changing fast and is more complex and more volatile. Following the recent financial and economic upheaval, in the "new" world, "doing different things" and "doing things differently" are the ingredients for success. Agility, flexibility, and innovation will be the recipe for success, requiring collaboration across horizontal and vertical lines, internally and with external partners. In short, the way people exercise leadership will be the key determining factor for success.

Utilizing innovations as a competitive advantage is important to enhance performance of nanotechnology-based organizations. Nanotechnology is a relatively new area where scientists and engineers are learning about fundamental components of matter and putting them to use in beneficial and productive ways, generating excitement word wide. New tools, processes, products and technologies are being created by working at the nanoscale to address some of the world's biggest challenges, including clean, secure and affordable energy; medical devices and drugs to detect and treat diseases more effectively; and faster, more powerful semiconductor-based electronic devices.

The focus of this executive development program is to develop knowledge and relevant skills for high potentials working or seeking to work in the nanotechnology industry. It is a crash course in learning to apply business principles while developing a comprehensive knowledge of the nanotechnology field.
